Finals week photo dump
User Testing Takeaway
- sturdier base so people won’t knock it over easily
- some people wanted to use it like an instrument
- better feedback—”oh, if I touch it longer, it plays this noise, if less, then this happens”
- inconsistency with DC motor
- try using a transistor instead of an H-bridge
- no-gear DC motor instead of right-angle?
- calculate current
- have a BACKUP to play what ASMR noises are created in case DC motor fails, rather than random brown noise
- rebuild tufting frame, smaller
- fix loop-pile height
- try ASMR noises with wood plank
ASMR Motor & Sensor
My motor wasn’t working so I tried a couple of things:
- picking out some plastic part that broke and fell into the copper area of the motor,
- changing out the capacitors I have (I switched around from 2 47microfarad caps to adding and taking out ~30microfarads more
- switching out the breadboard for a bigger one,
- switching out all the wires
- manually turning the pedals on the motor (**this worked the best :’)
